Another calm, almost sedate month on social media for the band as they continue rehearsals somewhere in the Oxford locale. Accordingly, there are very few images to download from February but I expect that this will start to change in the coming months as their dance card becomes a little more full. It's still an improvement on a year ago in February 2016, where there was only a single solitary photograph to enjoy from the whole 28 days. We take what we can get around here.
There were some festival announcements, those dapper gentlemen from Kings of Leon, some stills from the practice room and Mr Smith in a fairly scary looking mask. The most significant event in February was the long overdue release of that gig in Berlin from last year, after 200 days of it sitting on a shelf somewhere. The band put out a shot of a hand written note telling fans when and were they could see the show, and that snap is included in the zip along with a few other choice items. There's also an 8 second video taken by a very lucky Mr Lay, as he was part of the audience for the secret Foo Fighters gig at the Cheese and Grain in Frome on the 24th of the month. We see his mosh-pit view of a crowd going bananas to This is a Call, which was the Foo's debut single released in 1995. They also played Wattershed for the first time in several hundred years. Holy moly!
Editors also played the Cheese and Grain in June of 2008, and performed a special encore setlist by way of a treat for fans. It was ridiculous. Banging Heads, Heads in Bags, Colours and Open Up in a row. That, is how you end an evening ladies and jellyspoons. Oh, and by way of a sideline, as of the beginning of March 2017 Dream Dark as Your Heaven has still not emerged from hiding. No, we haven't forgotten!
