This is Editors' gig from Hurricane just over 3 years ago. It's a shame that 2016 will be remembered as the year that both their of the band's shows at Hurricane and Southside had to be abandoned due to atrocious weather conditions. In 2013, their appearance was part of the campaign that often saw Honesty rounding off the show after Papillon, as they toured the TWOYL album. It's amazing to me how old some of these songs seem now, having overdosed on live versions of the In Dream tracks lately. Even then, and as I documented here, I'm so deep into my Editors related psychosis that I can no longer remember the subtle differences between the live versions and the studio recordings anymore.
I've left the introductions at the very start of the video on this because within them you'll find a very short interview with Tom and Elliott, conducted a few minutes before they were due to walk out onto the stage. The jittery body language of all present suggests that nerves were definitely evident.
Having Honesty as a set closer is definitely out of step with the usual Editors formula of wringing the audience out, and then leaving them to dry with songs like Fingers, or Papillon. That's not to disrespect that track in any way, far from it, it just doesn't strike me as a natural way to say goodbye at the end of the evening. Almost like expecting to be kissed on the doorstep after a wonderful date, and instead getting a firm handshake or a fist-bump.

As for the other songs, Bones has two incidents for your amusement. The first one is Mr Lay's reaction to the scary feedback noise that Mr Lockey's guitar emits right at the beginning of the track. The second one involves a statement about the inclement weather by Mr Smith just before they play the song. My goodness, those years at finishing school were clearly wasted on you sir. Enjoy the music everybody:-
