Mr Smith made an appearance on long time Editors supporter John Kennedy's Radio X Exposure show the night before the official release of In Dream. Essentially, Tom gives us a track by track walkthrough of the album, with each tune from it being played. He talks about the thinking behind the initial promotion of No Harm and its release as a hidden track, and the electronic aspects of In Dream. The lineage between ITLAOTE and the new record is discussed, and the background to the now infamous trip to Crear that resulted in a much more productive atmosphere than anyone anticipated.
Something that I never knew was that the song The Big Exit on ITLAOTE, was originally intended to be a duet with a female vocalist. I read it in an online interview recently and it's alluded to here. There's also name-checks for 80's influences such as Bronski Beat, The Human League and Yazoo, which just warms my jaded and cynical heart. As a recommendation, tracks to check out by those bands would be:-
Bronski Beat - Run From Love or Smalltown Boy

There's lots more to enjoy and it's really, really interesting stuff to listen to. I've removed the official tracks that were aired during the show, in the interests of not ripping the band off by giving their songs away for free. A band that's broke can't afford flamethrowers for gigs and obscure artists' retreats for recording. Enjoy ;)
