This one's for the fans over the water in Belgium. As I'm sure I've said before, Belgian fans are crazy-enthusiastic in their love for Editors and Werchter crowds have really taken them to their collective hearts over the years. Here's a chance to experience the band's 2006 appearance at Werchter, where they played a set heavy with tracks off  The Back Room.  Looking back on this stuff I'm once again struck at how good those early songs are.  I love how Fall starts out so softly and then ends so aggressively, and the way that Chris bends the notes while Tom almost doubles-up playing his guitar. Camera is a reminder of what happens when the band take another look at a song that was in essence another fast guitar track in its early years, before maturing into the form it took on the Back Room. All drama and slow burning, and it's beautiful.

At the time, Bones was still unreleased and the Werchter 2006 performance is maybe second only to the Hultsfred recording in terms of its passion and the energy that the band put into it.  Ahhhhhh, those additional "Retreats!". You also get a chance to hear their cover of Talking Heads' Road to Nowhere towards the end of the set. All of this and there's a short video interview with Tom and Ed by way of bonus material. Enjoy the music ;)

Bonus Material - TMF Interview with Tom and Ed
A very amusing encounter between Tom, Ed and TMF. It contains one of my favourite ever quotes by Tom:-

"A lot of of bald spots at an Editors gig."
