The bad news first. It's not an HD video rip, and so it won't look too spanky on gigantic screens. And, unfortunately, Nothing cuts in at the beginning, so visually it's a partial show. I say this up front because I know these are the kind of details that annoy some of you lovely people. So apologies if your afternoon has just been officially ruined.

Good! I'm glad you're still around. Here's Editors' Rock Werchter performance from 2013.  This particular festival is, after all, an extremely special gig as far as the band are concerned, in particular because of one little song called No Sound But The Wind.  It was also a year prior to this show that the band made their debut at Werchter 2012 as a 5 piece. We now know that this was a gig that almost didn't happen, as they were circling dangerously close to splitting up after Mr Urbanowicz was gone. Luckily for us, they played the show and they've since said that as a result Editors Mk 2 was effectively cemented as a unit on that stage.

I'm listening to this as I'm uploading, and Tom in particular seems to be so utterly comfortable in front of what is an unbelievable amount of people (I think it's about 80,000). It's the little things, like his intro to Papillon after playing Dancing in the Dark (copyright The All Powerful Boss).  There's a look of utter joy on Russell's face as they enter the extended section of Papillon that is so satisfying to witness, like he really gets the importance of what he was a part of that night.

Listening to the audience sing along with NSBTW gives me chills, and I can only imagine what that must have felt like actually being there in front of that wall of crowd noise. If you think about their show at the much smaller Village Underground a week earlier (capacity 700 people) and then watch this, in comparative terms it's pretty remarkable.

Keep an eye out for Ed's remarkable sunglasses that he "activates" at the beginning of Papillon. Futuristic! Enjoy the music everyone ;)
