Radio Session at The Current MPR 18th April 2006 (audio)

Here's an acoustic session recorded for Minnesota Public Radio in April of 2006, which has since become another victim of time and vanished from the MPR official website. In an effort to keep these artifacts around for little longer, which is the primary goal of the Archive, I'm presenting it here as a collection of mp3s and a streaming version.

The recording here is Tom and Chris and their acoustic guitars performing in a very small studio. The setlist is all singles from The Back Room, as you would expect as part of their Stateside push during 2006.  There's some chatter which includes details of their days doing showcases for record companies, something I bet they don't miss at all. I have to give credit to the DJ here for bringing up the dreaded ghost of Joy Division...without actually bringing it up. He does it in a very clever way and he clearly sees the absurdity in that comparison by the way he words the question. Well played, sir. Well played.

This was the first time that the band appeared on the show, and they made a return in January of 2008 as part of the promotional duties for An End Has a Start, making good on their promise to return in the future. You can check out that session by following this link. Enjoy the music ;)
