There are elements settling into their respective places, and a picture is forming.
This month, we got more news on the current activities of that guy that does the vocals in Editors. He posted some photos of a trip to Ireland, where he evidently took the insane decision to bathe in the waters surrounding that Island. In winter. Wim Hof would probably be pleased, but I guarantee Tom's "extremities" were not.
His accomplice in this act of madness was Iain Archer, someone who has already become part of the developing narrative in Tom's next musical creations. What was brand new from this batch of social media deposits, however, was the name Thomas McLaughlin.
He's a producer and mixer who runs the Attica Audio residential recording studio in County Donegal. Older fans will remember that this isn't the first time Tom has decamped to Ireland to make music, given that the An End Has a Start album was recorded at Grouse Lodge in Rosemount. There were also two short videos released, both shot facing the studio console (presumably at Attica). The first is a silent listen-back to...something. There are sounds of fingers typing on an unseen keyboard but little else, even though we can see the levels on the desk being hit. The second video contains a loop of a single line being sung;
