If you ever wondered if it was possible to take a song that was already a little bit sad, and through the careful addition of one more instrument increase the mournfulness such that it would cause even the late Leonard Cohen say "Blimey, that's a bit mournful isn't it?", then we have an answer right here.
It is, and it does.
Notice, however, that at no point have I intimated that the increased darkness of this version is a bad thing. We are Editors fans, darkness is a-ok with us.

This clip was criminally marginalised on the Facebook page of Belgium's Radio 2, but expertly located by Hannah (thanks again!), this is Tom an Sergio playing No Sound but the Wind with just a guitar, vocals and some cello. I've said it elsewhere but when Sergio plays alongside the band I can still hear those Lori Goldston/Nirvana Unplugged vibes whenever the volume is turned right down and the music is at its most bare. Enjoy the music ;)
