Tom receives the news that the current tour just got extended.
The summer festival mini-campaign is finishing off tonight in Coventry at Godiva and then that's it until the UK tour begins in October. The rest of the year was looking like it would be a winding down period of the wider E6 live festivities until the 28th August, when an announcement was made that I have no doubt made several hearts flutter over there in Europe. The band declared their intention to keep the momentum from the VI OLENCE promotional juggernaut rolling for a a few more pre-xmas dates. The shows made official were:-
November

Sat, 17 Germany, Erfurt, Stadtgarden
Sun, 18 Germany, Dortmund, Phoenixhalle
Tue, 20 Germany, Stuttgart, Kultur and Kongresszentrum Liederhalle
Wed, 21 Germany, Frankfurt, Batschkapp
Thu, 22 Germany, Erlangen, E-Werk
Sat, 24 Poland, Poznan, MTP2
Sun, 25 Poland, Warsaw, Torwar Hall
Mon, 26 Slovakia, Bratislava, Bratislava Refinery Gallery
Wed, 28 Austria, Linz, Posthof
Thu, 29 Italy, Bologna, Paladozza

December

Mon, 3 Netherlands, Utrecht, Tivoli
Tue, 4 Netherlands, Utrecht, Tivoli
Thu, 6 Belgium, Brussels, Cirque Royale

It's fitting that the run ends in Brussels, as the long-standing mutual affection between Editors and Belgium continues to blossom.
After years of living within the confines of tour bus bunks out there on the roads of various countries around Europe and the world, the band briefly slipped into the realm of bands like Bon Jovi and Kiss with a flight on a private jet between live engagements. Not something they do very often, but I would imagine it's a refreshing change. Living large, Sirs.
Some photos appeared on the 22nd which showed the landscape of Iceland and one Mr Rahi Rezvani with the caption "location". Then some more snaps appeared and while it was confirmation of where they were, there was no solid reveal as to why. If it's a location then there's either photographic work going down or a video shoot for an upcoming release. If so, what's the track? The most appropriate song that we have so far from VI OLENCE is undoubtedly Cold, because having been to Reykjavik myself last year (which was awesome x100) I can confirm it gets a little bit chilly at times. If I wanted to try my hand at an utterly tenuous link, it also gets kinda dark early in Reykjavik so maybe they've finally relented and decided to free Dream Dark as Your Heaven from it's prison of obscurity?
Yeah, I know. Unlikely. But these are the things I ponder when I have a day off work, an ice cold strawberry smoothie and time on my hands.
So we finish the month with a lingering question about a possible upcoming release, and owing to the recently announced dates some more things to look forward to. We're still less than a year from the release of VI OLENCE and their tours and promotional work have historically stretched for a little bit longer than that, so there may even be more dates next year that we haven't been made aware of yet.
