This month saw the end of Tom and Nic Willes' trek in aid of raising public consciousness of There is Nothing in the Light That Isn't There in the Dark. Although there was the initial deflation of learning that the tour was over, it was later tempered by promotional appearances in Mainland Europe. Before that happened, however, we were treated to an acoustic version of a new song called Saturday. It means that the only song we haven't heard from the new album is Souls. All the other compositions are now, as Echo and Bunnymen would have said, Songs to Learn and Sing.
At the very tail end of the month, Tom and Nic played a couple of songs on Radio Freccia. One day later, Tom appeared on Virgin Radio to chat with Giulia Salvi and also play some music.
I'm typing this in November, and I was going to make another impassioned plea for a continuation of these kinds of shows. So Tom's album gets the kinds of support it deserves upon release. Within the first few days of November, however, a Spring tour was announced, making any entreaty on my part now utterly irrelevant. Yay!
