I imagine that it's tough being an American Editors fan. They've been overseas a few times, brief tours and appearances and then it was announced that they'd be returning for 5 dates between February and March of this year. The wait was finally over! Joy! Unfortunately Mr Smith's maladies meant that the shows got nuked as part of a larger cancellation of gigs and suddenly it's back to thumb-twiddling again (although some would argue that being an Editors fan is all about the waiting). It's just a substitute but, hopefully, this and the other recordings on offer here at the Archive will allow you to vicariously get that Editors live experience you're after.
This show is from The Warfield in San Francisco during February 2010, and was captured and made available at the time by lammah. The files are being shared here in their original FLAC format out of respect for the taper, many thanks to you for documenting this and sharing you work. It appreciated.
Something that the taper himself alludes to are the amount of people who won't shut up during the gig, and you can still hear them despite his best efforts. Luckily for us, the sound quality of the recording is so good that it falls away to background noise on most of the tracks, and you only really become aware of it when the more quiet numbers are played. It's apparent all the way through Walk the Fleet Road, for example, which is Def Con 1 level annoying.
What makes this concert a little special, aside from it being an American show is the improvised coda late into Like Treasure, where Tom references Neil Young by singing "Your love is like a hurricane". I'm not sure how often that happened when they played it live, but it fits in nicely with another enjoyable rendition of the song.
Before I sign off, listen out at around 1 minute and 40 seconds of Bullets, to hear Mr Smith become possessed by a shouty evil spirit. Out demon! Out! Enjoy the music ;)

The above snap was taken by friend to the Archive, Kevin. Many Thanks to you for sharing your work here, I really appreciate it. He took lots more on the night, and you can view them as well as some shots of their gig at the Wiltern in Los Angeles 3 days later. Incidentally, you can download audio from that show too by clicking here.
