Studio Brussel Acoustic Show 4th September 2009

A super, super intimate gig from 2009 for you all now.  Editors were guests at Studio Brussel, Belgium on the 4th September and they played to an audience of 10 people.

Nope, that's not a misprint. 10 people only.

A friend of the Archive, Yip updated me on the details for this show and how people ended up in the room with the band (thank you, Sir). Apparently there was a competition on StuBru to win tickets, but you could also win some via the band's old official website. If Lady Luck was smiling your way, a chair at the show awaited you. Simple.

I also don't have the running order, but it looks like the whole thing was finished off in customary fashion with Fingers. On a related note of trivia, Fingers had to be restarted due to Tom forgetting the words, something which he references in the interview that accompanies these clips. You'll notice that Mr Lay is conspicuously absent here, as is also referenced in that interview.

What you do get is Mr Smith and Mr Urbanowicz on acoustic guitars, while King Leetch drops the bass in favour of hitting the keys. The quality of the videos is on the low side, something inherent in the source material, but thankfully the sound quality is really good. So much so that I've made some mp3 rips for you to listen to.  I don't know if it was the acoustics of the room or good mixing, but there's a lot of space in the songs as a result.

Enjoy the music ;)
