In Dream to be released October 2nd 2015 (video)

Get ready, folks. The new Editors album has both a title and a release date, as well as a final confirmed tracklisting (that we've debated for months). As I point out further into this post, there are 4 songs that don't appear to have made it onto the album for whatever reason, and they're detailed below. Put a big red "X" on your calendar for October 2nd 2015 when, after what seems like a very prolonged bout of breath holding, In Dream will finally see the light of day. You can watch a brief teaser clip here to get yourself in the mood. There's also the opportunity to pre-order In Dream at the band's official website, link is below.  This is the confirmed tracklisting:-

Disk 1
1. No Harm
2. Ocean Of Night
3. Forgiveness
4. Salvation
5. Life Is A Fear
6. The Law
7. Our Love
8. All The Kings
9. At All Cost
10. Marching Orders

Disk 2
1. Alternative: Forgiveness
2. Alternative: No Harm
3. Oh My World
4. Alternative: Our Love
5. Alternative: Life Is A Fear
6. Harm

What's interesting to note about the above is that there are a few songs missing, some of which were in the twitter post that Tom did in January of this year.  That list also contained the following:-

Dream Dark as Your Heaven
The Pulse

And the previous glimpse of the titles we got in October 2014 contained these:-

At All Cost (I + II)
He Comes From the Quiet
The Wind On The Water

So technically that's 4 songs still unaccounted for (assuming that At All Cost has simply been condensed in the writing process to a single track).  There could be any number of reasons that these songs haven't surfaced, primarily they may not have actually ended up as complete songs at all. The writing process can bend and shape tunes in lots of different ways and sometimes they lead the author down a blind alley, causing them to put the track to one side and maybe return to it later.  In the "good old days" we could have hoped for the songs to perhaps surface as b-sides down the line.  We shall see, but I'd love to know if these titles eventually became something more than hints in a twitter post.

Exciting times !

brought to you with lots of lemming-love :) x
