Editors Instagram - August 2020

We're all aware that this year was supposed to be all about celebrating achievements when it came to Editors. I'm thinking in particular about the Black Gold tour that would have served to summarise the band's past, acting as its footnote as they progressed towards...whatever was next. Of course, that campaign would eventually see itself drawn to the rocks by the devious, sickly call of the covid sirens. Still, there was a perfect opportunity to cast fond glances backwards anyway as we were given a rare treat in the form of the complete broadcast of Lowlands 2007. Why was this a big deal? Well, it was the first time in 13 years we'd had the opportunity to actually see them playing the entire set, having only had it in audio form prior that.

In a world that is still dubiously uncertain in terms of the freedom of movement it affords its citizens, Justin still managed to send out some cracking on-location shots from somewhere very beautiful. He's essentially saved the day this month in terms of what material is on offer, similarly to the way he has in the past with his wonderful airport snaps. We also got some short film clips from his adventures, all of which are included here.

There were some photos here from the day of action that centred around #wemakeevents, which was all about making people aware of the current situation that the people who we're not usually aware of are in thanks to "that virus".  The skeleton that supports the music industry is in a state of corrosion, and once that goes then all it supports will follow. Worrying times.

As I said last month in the Instagram collection post for July, the videos I'm posting on the Archive's  YouTube profile are still being blocked by PIAS in Denmark...and only in Denmark. To any of you folks who may live in that part of the world, I'd like to apologise again. This isn't me, honestly. I love y'all.
