Another special occasion on what I suspect will be a long series of such instances, leading up to and including the release of Editors' retrospective hits collection on the 25th of this month. Here's the full audio of Tom, Elliott and Justin (he's back!) on the Chris Evans Show on Virgin Radio, 11th October 2019. This deviated from the traditional radio broadcast in that the band began and ended the show with the same song...and it wasn't one of theirs. The mandolin has been dusted off again as they played Half a World Away by R.E.M. as a lead in and outro to this appearance. What makes this set especially unusual, however, is the inclusion of a cello player called Sergio as an extra musician. I don't think we've ever had this setup before and it really adds a whole new shade to the music. Really fun to listen to and heartening to see that even this far into their life as a group, they're still looking at new ways of presenting their music. Enjoy ;)
