From her usual position at the front of the crowd, this is Mari's recording of Cold being played acoustically at Home Festival in Venice, 12th July 2019. It begins as quietly as you would expect it to, given that it's just a singer and a guitar but once Elliott gets involved you can see an immediate increase in intensity. In the past Editors have used multiple instruments and layering of sound to build tension and drama, in songs like Camera or Ocean of Night for example. Here, they're able to do it with two instruments, two vocalist and a large unpaid but hyper-enthusiastic set of backing singers.
The Italians always show up for Editors, and they're usually in fine voice. There was no deviation from the norm here, with the audience participating fully in the chorus as they're baited by Mr Williams.

Sad to think that there are only 2 dates left to be played after this and then... who knows? There's a celebratory atmosphere to this because this really does feel like the natural end of the VI OLENCE campaign. What a trip it's been. Enjoy ;)
