This is the second of Gary's gifts to the fans which covers the band's recent couple of dates in France, as part of their lead up to playing Musilac on the 26th. Unfortunately for everyone, that show was cancelled due to the elements wreaking havoc on the stage area. It's a real shame because I don't know if you've actually seen the location where Musilac takes place but it's quite beautiful.
Unfortunately I would imagine that the geography of that location would make it susceptible to dubious weather conditions and that's what happened. 24 hours after they played L'Autre Canal Editors should have been providing a soundtrack to all that amazing scenery. It wasn't to be.
This was a happy gathering for one Editor in particular, given it took place of Elliott's birthday. He's certainly come a long way from being hired as child labour for the TWOYL campaign. Congratulations to you, Sir. The show was also the second for a returning friend, Nicholas Willes who is stepping up to provide some six string substitution for an absent Justin Lockey. How long his tenure will be is unclear but it's always nice to hear him play.
Dogs and cats are apparently more finely attuned to nature than we are, if you believe the theory, and they instinctively know when things like storms of earthquakes are coming. I bring this up because unlike the previous night's set in Rouen, there were a couple of slip ups and technical glitches here and there in Nancy. Almost as if everyone had a sense that something bad was coming the following day. The instruments, they always know...
