If there was one person you hoped would be present for the current run of shows here in the UK, I think we'd all come up with the same name. Luckily for us, Gary was indeed at Nottingham Rock City show, 9th October 2018 and this is his recording of the evening. Many thanks to you for your work again, Gary ;)
After the summer festival campaign was ended, there were signs on Instagram that the band were looking backwards to gather material for their impending UK tour. So it proved to be the case. What we have here is essentially a brand new tour and a new setlist. Everything opens with The Boxer which was something I couldn't have predicted. A band that seem to be so set on looking forward decide to begin with a song from almost a decade ago just didn't figure. Also, it isn't the kind of tune that will light the room up and get everyone in the mood for the party that will follow. But then if you look at the way it flows into Sugar then it makes more sense, as there are some stylistic similarities between those two songs. As well as The Boxer there was space in the running order for some old favourites, with Fall, All Sparks, Someone Says and Bullets finding their way back into rotation. The whole setlist seems to have been constructed with the UK audiences in mind, peppered with some of their oldest and best known songs with three of them closing out the event.
