Editors Instagram - April 2018

April weirdness. That Mr Smith even owns this outfit is troubling enough, but the fact that he decided to adorn himself with it so far removed from Halloween is even more disturbing. Shell-suits, people. He looks as though he's heard from a friend that there's going to be a rave in an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town. Now all he needs are some glow sticks, a bottle of water, some dancing shoes (to cover up those socks) and a time machine to go back to 1988. Sorted!

The past month was all about wrapping up the second part of the European tour which, somewhat poetically, began in Birmingham all the way back on the 4th March. Here's a few highlights from 30 days well occupied.

After the manic pace of March and all the promotional opportunities that the new album brought, it was going to be a hard task to match it. April really was all about playing Europe, and for Mr Lockey to keep up his ongoing "Corridors" series of photos. Gone is the glamorous illusion that the backstage areas are red-carpeted palaces, scenes of endless rock and roll excess within immaculate surroundings. Utilitarian to the very end.

Justin also provided some more videos of his travels, including another "right place/right time" spot during a clip I've filed as "LockeyBudapest". It's a seemingly mundane and meaningless action by one of the ground crew at the airport but it's almost as if he knew he was being filmed, and did something that just looks very cool for some reason. Justin has a knack for instinctively capturing these things, like he's done before with soldiers walking into shot. With all of the activities he's currently involved in, music/photography and film making I wonder if he actually sleeps? All of his snaps and videos for last month are in the zip below.

On the 14th Tom met up with Dermot O'Leary for a Saturday Session and did something nobody was expecting; he covered a song by Justin Timberlake. Still keeping 'em guessing.

The new single from VI OLENCE, Darkness at the Door was officially released on the 17th and had another promotional video constructed by Mr Rezvani. Some of the live shots were filmed during their show at the Ziggo Dome and, if I'm correct, some of the close-up footage was gathered around the time of the soundcheck for that gig before the crowd arrived. Later on the 27th of April the band changed their style again and released an acoustic version of DATD which probably caused Bill Withers' eyebrow to raise slightly.

Here's all the photos and story videos associated with Editors' Instagram for April 2018. For all you fans over in the States that are currently holding tickets to finally see them live, the wait is almost over...

Enjoy the April memories ;)
