At the time this was committed to the digital record, Tom was returning to live action after a prolonged bout of illness which effectively halted the promotional campaign for In Dream, as well as completely nuking the American tour they had lined up for February/March of that year. The whole process of recovery had lasted about 6 months, and that's an awfully long time to be unable to do the thing you love. But sometimes your body gives you a request which, if you ignore it, eventually becomes more of an order which you have to adhere to before serious damage is done. He did, and then he came back.
If you hadn't caught them when they toured with the Manics in May then this radio session was a big deal, because it offered some reassurance that the man was back to health and able to play his music once more. As it turned out, he managed to execute an acoustic set that settled the nerves of the faithful but also incorporated what is in my opinion the best stripped down version of Blood Editors have ever done. It's an audacious claim, I know, but I've heard this song thousands of times and if these jaded ears caught its greatness, I'm probably on to something.
Enjoy the music ;)

Here's video of the three songs performed as part of this session, and boy are they good. Forgiveness is a solid take but as I alluded to earlier, Blood sounds like it's been beamed in from another universe altogether. Enjoy the music ;)
