"More and more people I know are getting ill....."
Around early September, Mr Smith was afflicted by a bout of illness which was so severe that his doctor ordered bedrest, and which consequently caused some problems during the early promotional stages of the In Dream campaign. It appears that he is once again in a state of ill health which has forced the band to cancel 5 shows in a row. It must be bad, because this is something they never do unless it's absolutely necessary, which of course is a cause of genuine concern for the man himself. It makes me wonder if the incessant touring, and the instability it brings physically and mentally, as well as the additional promotional appearances have made it impossible for him to shake off whatever was ailing him in September? They say that the best way to effectively heal is usually to surrender completely to the illness and let it run its course. However, if you're in Editors and the gospel of album 5 needs to be taken to the masses, I don't imagine you're going to get that chance anytime soon. I hope that changes, and I really hope this isn't too serious.
