Up next is Editors' session for French radio station OuiFM, which was recorded and aired live in September of 2015. This post has the complete collection of videos and audio chronicling Mr Smith's appearance at OuiFm performing a short acoustic set, and there's also some bonus material featuring your favourite bass-tamer for the hardcore fans.
This show saw the return of the Bruce Springsteen cover, Dancing in the Dark as well as Forgiveness and Life is a Fear, which on this occasion is a more stripped back and quiet cousin to its moody dancefloor friendly relative. All 3 tracks are available here in a set of videos that I ripped from the OuiFM website, and there's a full audio broadcast that not only had the music but also featured a chat with Tom and Russell. It offers up a very brief but strangely enlightening glimpse into the band's past, as we learn about the dynamics for the songwriting on the first three albums. I've left everything intact from the radio show, including the station ident from Tom midway through the session (I told you there was stuff for the hardcores). Hopefully it'll give it that authenticity you would have gotten if you'd been listening as it happened.
There was a short but characteristically awkward video of an exchange between Tom and the host showed up online just a few minutes prior to going on air, and that's available below too. Finally, there's an interview by France 24 with Tom and Russell which alludes to their previous lives as members of the band Pilot, and warns against the perils of bold marketing plans that have no consistent planning. Enjoy the chat and the music ;)

Here's a little intro video filmed by OuiFM before the recording, where Mr Smith plays it indecisively cool when asked by the host "Are you ready to play live?".

One for the French speaking fans among you, as we get this interview with Russell and Tom Wilson. Yes, that's right. You thought you knew his name (I bet even Tom felt fairly certain of his own moniker until this point), but the DJ don't lie. Tom Wilson of Editors it is. As this is French radio, King Leetch and Mr Wilson's answers are dubbed for the audience.

While they were in France to record a radio slot for OuiFM in September of 2015, Tom and Russell were interviewed by France24. They discuss the dynamics underlying the making of In Dream as well as their successful viral attempt at advertising an early gig as Pilot, which subsequesntly ended in a glorious, gimmick-free failure. It's all about substance and content, folks.
brought to you with lots and lots of lemming-love :) x
