There's a certain satisfying and even perverse irony seeing Editors at a press event for the launch of a new audio product by Sony, even more so when they get a chance to perform and talk about ITLAOTE. I don't want to go off into a rant, but Sony's behaviour towards the band after Mr Urbanowicz was no longer an Editor fell well short of being classified as "decent".
Ed, Tom and Russell all took part in this retrospective chat about the album with only one of its architects, the aforementioned Chris not present. Additionally, 2 acoustic songs were played and they were Smokers from AEHAS and Munich from the mighty Back Room. There's a lengthy chat with the guys to enjoy, including a lot of technical details relating to the sounds on the album. There's also a revelation about the song Walk the Fleet Road that is conversely shocking and sad, and shines a light on the songwriting dynamic between Mr Smith and Mr Urbanowicz. This is the complete recording of the entire event courtesy of TheAlphaAudio, enjoy the chat ;)
