The Weight - Live at City Sound Milano 20th July 2014 (audio/video)

Now here's a thing. We've all been waiting for the band to debut new material during the summer festivals, and instead they throw us a curve ball in the form of this little diamond.  For the first  time, the claim can be made that the entire Weight of Your Love album has now been played live in one form or another at various points during the touring campaigns since its release. It was, of course, performed for the very first time at the PIAS Nites gig way back in 2012, along with What is This Thing Called Love (available to check out here).

The Weight is my favourite song from TWOYL, and to the best of my knowledge this performance is only the second time we've been given a chance to hear it outside of the studio environment. This version is just Tom and his acoustic guitar, which is often how Editors songs begin their life in the first place. It happened during the encore of the City Sound show in Milan, and that's appropriate because the Italian Editors fans are at a level of obsession that I can absolutely relate to. The fanshot video comes from Luca Agente Morgeo, while the audio is from Enrico Tinterri, thank you both for taking the time to share.

I'm stupidly busy with work at the moment, so I haven't had a chance to properly sift through the fan footage from this show. But I know how important this particular song is so I did it first. For Mari and the Italian Pop Kids, hope you all had a good time at the gig :)
