"We don't play this next one very often......." - Tom before Let You Good Heart Lead You Home
From Brussels with love. Another show from the band's spiritual home for you now, as provided by long-time Editors superfan and friend to the Archive, Yipman. Thanks to you, sir. For an audience recording, this one's a cracker. My abiding memory of the AEHAS campaign will always be Tom taking to the stage in a large scarf which would usually, but not always be discarded during or after Bones. Presumably this was simply done to protect the vocal chords, but visually it's stuck with me ever since.
The setlist is a good one, with a mixture of old and new at that time. Not only is there Banging Heads which represented their present/future (but not that much of their future), but there was also the inclusion of long lost b-side Let Your Good Heart Lead You Home (which should hopefully bring some sunshine into your world, Tilly Mint). The band have picked up a lot of new fans in the past couple of years who may have missed some items of their back catalogue. If that's you, then LYGHLYH is one you should introduce yourself to as quickly as possible. There were times very early on where the band allowed themselves to drop the pace from their usual frenetic speed, and just let the songs flow a little more. You can hear that both in LYGHLYH and their eventual studio take of Camera, which was a very different song prior to its reconstruction.
Elsewhere, Spiders contains the "Red Rain" refrain again and Fingers in the Factories is played like it's the last time they'll ever get to perform it.
