All-round witty character Russell gives an interview on an unknown date sometime in 2006, from The Velvet Spade bar in Austin Texas (which I think has since closed down?). It's ground that's been covered in a lot of other interviews but Russell is on fine form when providing the answers. For example, on the subject of deciding to use the name Editors after Snowfield and The Pride:-
Interviewer - "What's with all the name changes?"
Russell- "Well, the last 2 were bollocks."
Incidentally, although King Leetch says that The Pride and Snowfield were the only two band names before Editors, they were briefly known as Pilot. That name actually became part of the promotional campaign for them at the time, where they plaster posters around town with the question "Who's the Pilot?" on them to advertise gigs.
The weird audio cut offs at the 3 minute 50 mark and the very end were present in the source material, so apologies for that. Shouldn't take too much of the shine off your enjoyment though. Enjoy the chat ;)
