KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic 17th January 2006 (audio/video)

The Back Room was about to be released in the States (in March),  and as part of the promotional duties, Editors recorded a first-time radio session at KCRW on Nic Harcourt's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" show. One notable thing about this performance is that it features Chris performing in a pair of glasses. I'm not sure I have any other clips where that happens, but I could be wrong. With this being a controlled studio environment, it's fun to watch the effect that having to remain in one place for the webcams has on Tom. From the very first song, we can see him rocking back and forward and displaying all the signs of pent up energy unable to release because of the space issues. When Editors perform live Tom is usually all over the stage, or climbing on pianos/drum risers/Russell. The result of being still seems to charge the set with an underlying tension.

The interview is good too. Can Nic Harcourt pronounce Chris' surname? What happens when the band are asked about their show in Nashville, which saw them travel from the UK, play a show, then get straight back on a plane and leave afterwards? You will know soon enough. Enjoy the music ;)
