Atomic Café, Munich, 11th November 2005

Another European show from 2005, now. This being the year that The Back Room was released, the set list is very "Old School Editors" in style; containing Someone Says, Let Your Good Heart Lead You Home and Open Your Arms. For me, LYGHLYH is one of the band's finest moments, and as is the case with another cracking track, You Are Fading, it was a b-side. Sacrilege! Produced by Guy Garvey of Elbow, it was tucked away as an extra track on the first issue of the Blood cd single and is a genuine treasure waiting for discovery.

There's also a cover of Stereolab's French Disko here. The cover versions that Editors have done have often been a bone of contention among fans. You either love them or you hate them, with few people occupying that "not sure" middle ground. As a fanboy of The Cure, for example, I was extremely concerned when I heard they were covering Lullaby. As it turned out, I really liked their version of it. And in true Editors style, the track sounds amazing when they've played it live.

Pay special attention to Tom working the crowd just before Munich. That's the seeds of the showman he would become being sown before your very ears. Enjoy the music ;)

Enjoy the music ;)
