The anticipation building continues...
There was no Editors news in October 2021, other than In This Light and on This Evening turning the grand old age of 12 on the 12th.
Justin posted some more photos, Ed shared a short video of him painting a shed door black, and Elliott continued strengthening the synapses allocated to his electronic adventures behind and adjacent to the turntables. I don't know what Editors' new album actually sounds like, but I wonder if the situation was reversed and Mr Williams had undertaken this prolonged period of DJ exploration before they recorded it, how would that have bled into the sonic construction of E7? Maybe it's already heavily synthetic by design and that was a theme he took out into the world with him, as he continues to operate nocturnally while observing the countdown to launch a post greatest hits era of the band. Because of the currently closed-source nature of Editors, this is all just a hypothesis concocted in the vacuum of absence. We don't know until we know and so we wait.
In housekeeping news, the Archive on YouTube picked up one of the more serious breach of contract notices via the band's label for the "Editors at Glastonbury 2013" video I shared. It means that, unfortunately, rather than simply having ads placed in it there's a worldwide block making the footage completely unavailable to view. I've contacted them to plead my case directly, but as yet there's been no response. I think the problem track for the algorithm is Honesty, which was also flagged as an issue when Editors' Heineken Open'er Festival 2013 video also got blocked worldwide. I appealed the decision on that one using YouTube's own dispute process but got nowhere. That's why I was keen to communicate with an actual person from the label this time around, to see if the rumours concerning my possession of a small amount of charm are unfounded. As yet, I'm having no luck in testing the theory. So apologies for the missing music, I'll keep trying.
