This was Tom and Andy's visit with Nihal Arthanayake for his Radio 5 afternoon show today, 24th February 2021. In terms of the kinds of topics covered, Nihal tended to lean further towards the mechanics that underpin the construction of a song, be it the techniques used or the influence of locations etc. and he managed to keep a long conversation very light. There was also an acoustic run through of Parliament Hill, which I believe is the same one from the master recording that's been doing the rounds on European radio lately. Sometimes it's nice to relax the boundaries of time constraint and just let your subjects breathe a little, which at just under 40 minutes in length is exactly what this felt like. Good job Nihal.
Watch out for two truly sensational reciprocal no-sells from Tom as he's caught on the receiving end of some lovely compliments from Andy. Beautifully awkward. Enjoy ;)
