Studio Brussel Interview 15th October 2019

Hannah caught this for me while I was "out of the office", many thanks to her for that.

On the 15th October 2019 Studio Brussel hosted Elliott, Justin and Tom for an hour long in studio special where they answered some questions provided by fans who called in, as well as playing some of their favourite music. In keeping with the Archive's rule of self-policing and not ripping bands off, the music they chose has been edited out as well as some Editors tracks that were played. If you're interested, these were the two songs they selected for broadcast:-

David Bowie - Sorrow
Bruce Springsteen - Wrecking Ball
ABBA - Gimme Gimme Gimme

The questions cover a lot of the ground we've already heard about, how did you select which tracks went on the album, who are your musical influences etc but there was one which comes up every once in a while. They're asked when they'll be releasing a live album, and they rightly point out that most of Editors' live stuff is available on YouTube...and elsewhere if you know where to look.

(cough)

The truth is that they have already released a live record, even though it was in a limited capacity. The show at the Amsterdam Paradiso on the 30th January 2006 was released as a DVD that same year to accompany a special "Festival Edition" of the Back Room album. I'm pretty sure it was a Dutch only release, and contained all 11 songs played at that gig.
Also, I think I may have the answer to Justin's brain-cramp moment where he's searching for the name of those salty, flattened-out pretzel snacks. I believe they could be Twiglets, and the reason I think that is because they've been a source of sustenance for the band since their earliest touring days. Can I prove it? Yes, I can.
This was backstage at V Festival in 2007, no photoshopping has taken place. They really do love their Twiglets. Enjoy the chatter ;)
