Backstage at Editors' show in Finland as part of Ruisrock Festival, 5th July 2013 and I can't recall an interview with Editors that begins with their host coming in with such low energy, as well as framing the reality of his guests in such a negative way for a starting point. This never would have happened if the the mighty Al-Di (orgy party!) had been in charge. Luckily we have Elliott and Ed on hand to keep the flow alive.
This was a year after Chris departed and they were still really in the process of settling into their groove as a five piece. Justin and Elliott were still "the new guys", and so there must have been a little awkwardness in these interview situations. How much should you talk as a new member of Editors, and if you do speak, what exactly should you say? You can feel it from him, even though this interaction only lasts a couple of minutes. However, all that changes in a lovely little moment when Mr Lay is talking about future plans. He refers to Elliott saying "He's part of the band", and the resulting a smile that breaks out on Mr Williams' face says it all. Love it. Enjoy ;)
