Tom on the O J Borg show 25th May 2019

Recorded on location at the This is Tomorrow festival today, 25th May 2019, here's Tom making acoustic noises on the OJ Borg show. There's also some additional industrial sounds by a tractor during the set, which is very avant-garde. I can almost imagine Maybe a little bit too out-there for a place on a future Editors record, but you can decide for yourselves.

He performs Munich and Smokers, as well as chatting with his host about upcoming plans, which just happen to include a greatest hits album by the band at the end of the year. That's a nice piece of news because Editors are a group who's singles were always "hit 'em hard and quit while they're smiling", if that makes any sense? Short, compact calling cards that really gave you concise introduction to who you were listening to. I'm listening to a few of those early numbers now and there's such undeniable power there. A mixture of youthful urgency and noise. Plus, their accompanying b-sides were often as good as or even better than their lead tracks.

There's also a more detailed explanation of the process between the band and Blanck Mass and how the VI OLENCE album was recorded, which I really love hearing about because of my appreciation for how music is constructed. Kudos to OJ for asking.

Enjoy the music and the chatter ;)
