The VI OLENCE tour continued through November, seeing them taking a trip back to Mexico again as well as playing 6 dates in Germany. There was a one-off event in Bologna for the Italian Pop Kids when, as well as Nothing being reintroduced into the running order, Tom played the first couple of minutes of Fall acoustically. To my knowledge this has never happened before in the 13 years since The Back Room was released and luckily we had Mari there to get it on film. Thanks again ;)
Right at the start of November something very unsettling happened as I was putting together another Editors Oddity post. The band made a second appearance as subject matter on the game show Pointless (celebrity edition) here in the UK, their first is available here. Essentially, the question was to guess a band whose name could also be an occupation by being given a single letter. Additionally, they also played a brief burst of Munich just to give a further clue to the assembled contestants. Turned out nobody got it and worse still, when the answer was revealed they had no idea who Editors were. Confusingly, the photo they used was from 2007 when Chris was still and Editor but even an up to date picture wouldn't have altered the outcome. Host Richard Osman gave the band a shout out but ultimately it didn't change the warm, cosy level of ingnorance among those present. Take from that what you will, but it caused me to chuckle loudly enough to make me want to document it in some way. Literally at the precise instant that I was getting ready to upload it to YouTube, Ed posted about it on his Instagram page and totally blew the surprise. I've never been beaten to the punch so effectively by an Editor before (well played, sir), and so I abandoned the plan there and then. However, if you want to relive the moment of televisual non-recognition, I've added the video of it to the zip file.

As well as the usual travel photos and live imagery there are 20+ items that appeared when the band took over the story section of Tidal Polska's Instagram page on the 26th November. As I type this, the band are preparing to play their final show of 2018 in Brussels at Cirque Royal. If my maths is correct then that brings the total number of shows played since March to just under 100. They're out there working, those gloomy cats.

An Instagram colection with a sideline is something that never happens, but this month is different. The end of November had a surprise that wasn't entirely unexpected. With Andy Burrows being present on the current Editors tour it was almost set in stone that, due to their proximity alone, he and Tom would end up on the stage performing in some way. Even though there were some soft assertions that it definitely wouldn't be happening. Oh no. Of course it wouldn't. Not a chance.
That proved incorrect and not only did we get Andy being a temporary Editor for Nothing, but we also got the first of the anticipated new material by the duo when Tom joined Andy onstage during his own set. I've had a few people contact me to share their material and so, even though the Archive is almost exclusively Editors related, I've put together this part of this onth's Instagram post so that if you're an S&B fanatic you can at least check out the new song for yourselves. This is the best footage footage from three separate nights, and all of the sources are good friends of the Archive (thank you!). But that's not all.
