This is a very interesting exchange between the man with the beaters and Joey Page on Fubar Radio, 11th July 2018. It's another instance of Hannah finding it and me Archiving it, so thanks a lot to you for this ;)
Joey Page has the air of a man who genuinely likes the band, and from his own little introduction it feels like both he and his lady had the same experience that most of us had; heard about Editors, weren't too sure if we'd like them and then took a trip to see them play live. After that, the doubts were banished and the brain chemistry rewired to accommodate a new drug.
There's a retrospective feel to the start of all this which sees Ed looking back at Editors' trajectory over the years, yet at the same time acknowledging that he believes the band are actually getting better as they go on. He cites the band and Mr Smith's awkwardness during those early years, and how their performances have changed so much since then. An admirable amount of time is spent discussing Editors' recent trip to Serbia for Oxfam, and it's a fresh approach that differs greatly from the usual campaign questions that we're used to hearing and excellent work by Joey for exploring this angle.
It's mind blowing that Ed appeared on the same show as Glen Matlock. If you like guitar bands, then Glen was the bass player and songwriter in one of the most important guitar bands that ever was. It's a small world, don't ya think? Enjoy the music ;)
brought to you with lots and lots of lemming-love ;) x
