Ed interviewed on 6 Music March 2016

Yeah! First bit of promotion in a long while and this time it's courtesy of the man with the sticks. Mr Lay appeared on 6 Music's Radcliffe and Maconie show this week as part of their Music News segment. There's something very jarring about listening to this brief chat being prefaced with a mention of "the mood in The Editors' camp after parting company with their original guitarist, Chris". Let me put this into some kind of perspective for you.

Next month, Chris will have been an Ex-Editor for a full 4 years. In that time, he's acted as a producer and musician for The Spectors (and friend to a very famous doodle), while Editors have released 2 albums. In terms of the current concerns surrounding this band, at least one of my questions would have been "How's Tom doing?". Considering the gravity of his illness and all the plans that fell as a result of it, I'd be really curious to find out how he's progressing. Not the specifics, because that's none of my business, just a general overview. Instead, Ed gets a question that the band have answered ad nauseam since 2013 and one which, to me anyway, doesn't carry nearly the same amount of relevancy that it once did (and that's no disrespect to Mr Urbanowicz, who's playing I miss terribly). I know this was only a small feature on a bigger radio show but it feels like a missed opportunity. Still, you can make up your own mind by listening here.
