As with most things here at the Archive, things are sometimes complicated. This posts contains Editors at Rock am Ring 2010 with two identities. The first one is sourced from television while the second is from MTV, possibly their website at the time of the event. The main difference between the two is that the MTV coverage is complete and has all songs included, while the television broadcast had to adhere to a strict one hour time slot and so ITLAOTE was dropped to make it all fit. So why share both? It's because the quality on the television video is a litle bit smoother. If that makes sense and you're cool with the arrangement, read on.
When the first lineup of Editors were in the mood to put on a show, they really knew how to do it. By 2010 they'd done so much touring that playing the material was essentially muscle memory, with all the rest being passion and showmanship. Rock am Ring from June of that year was a show where all of those components were present and being used to their fullest. Mr Smith in particular was clearly up for a good evening this time around.

With this being a festival set it's a short collection of 12 crowd-pleasers, and only NSBTW provides a chance for the audience to chill their heels. It you like your Editors gigs with a little hint of crazy and plenty of energy, this one will send you away smiling. Also, there's a uniquely strange moment during ERM=BD which I'm not sure has happened before or since; Tom sings the line Diamonds are forever from the Shirley Bassey song (and James Bond Theme) of the same name. Why? I have no idea, but there it is. Additionally, there's some bonus material in the form of mp3s and two interviews from the day of the gig (with King Leetch rocking the floral t-shirt).
