Mousonturm Frankfurt 29th January 2006 (audio)

This was a German radio broadcast from 2006. I've done my best to remove the annoying station idents that littered this show, but on some occasions you'll still hear it. Bullets jerks to a stop as a result, and it's there in the intro to Fall. Apologies for that, but the alternative of just leaving them in was far more annoying. Plus, this being a show that was still early in Editors' career means that it absolutely needs to be shared at the Archive, in spite of the arduous process of trimming off the unnecessary stuff.

What's great about this is that if you've listened to the studio and live versions of these songs more that a few hundred times (don't judge me, I'm obsessed), you can spot the little future embellishments that are missing instantly. The part in Munich where it breaks down to just Ed and Russell at around 3 minutes in, for instance. When that's been played in later shows, Tom adds these little bits of guitar that just sit there shimmering over the top.  There's a very early run through of The Weight of the World, which still hadn't reached it's final arrangement yet but was a significant step away from the original version of the song.  It has an extended drum intro and Chris' guitar playing is different in parts. There's also no gap between the second chorus and the "You touch my face..." section. As well as being a fan of a great song, I'm a total sucker for the mechanics of how it's all put together.

Find Yourself a Safe Place is also here which if you've never heard it before will be a nice treat, because it's a monster when they play it live.  Enjoy the music, folks ;)
