Russell Leetch is a funny, funny man. I've said it before lots of times but I can usually back it up with several examples of his work. Here's one. This is a great interview with him and Mr Smith for Ego FM. Conversationally it's a bit weird as there never seems to be any natural ebb and flow, and it has lots of moments that seem to veer uncomfortably between awkward and flat out hysterical. All the while, Tom slowly and methodically demolishes the fruit rider whilst taking care to avoid the bananas. As well as some golden punchlines, look out for Russell indulging his latent pyromania at around 9 minutes and 45 seconds. It should be noted that being a firestarter is not his only vice, as it emerges that a seemingly innocent misadventure at the go-kart track involving Ed may not have been as accidental as it first appeared.
At about 6 minute 30 seconds in there's a really interesting portent of things to come, where Tom expresses the desire to have a female vocalist on a track. Fast forward six years to E5 and we had The First Lady of Footwear Glancing, Rachel Goswell, contributing vocal duties on Ocean of Night and The Law. Spooky. Enjoy ;)
