This would appear to be the last vine posting that we'll see from the rehearsal/recording session that the band have been undertaking in Scotland. Bitter sweet, in a way, because these little pieces and looks behind the scenes of E5 were becoming quite addictive. This clips shows the band's gear all stowed away in flight cases, with what I think is "Je Suis un Rock Star" by Bill Wyman playing in the background.
The band recently opened an official instagram account and have been posting goodies on there at a brisk pace. This includes a flyer from a gig they did way back in 2002 when they were still called <pilot> (I wonder whatever became of the Fru-Tang Clan?). You could and should be jumping aboard by following this link:-
In one last piece of very exciting news, the new Editors album appears to be on its way to mixing by Alan Moulder. An excellent choice because his list of credits is mighty impressive. Smashing Pumpkins, Curve, Ride, The Cure etc etc. To give you an idea of just how special Alan's skills are, he was pretty much the only person that the notoriously choosy Kevin Shields actually trusted during the recording of MBV's "Loveless" album. If you know about the history of that record, it will make sense what a huge deal that is. Alan's also worked with Flood, somebody with whom Editors had a good recording experience with previously. In a moment of eerie coincidence, he did a remix of She Calls by Slowdive, and Rachel Goswell is on the new recording in some capacity.
While it would be tempting to say that Alan Moulder's involvement is an indication of a loud guitar/rock kind of feel to E5, you just never can say. It's certainly his bread and butter, and a style that he's very much accustomed to. I can only imagine how awesome Editors' music will sound when it's been "touched by the hand of Moulder". Can't wait :)
So while this vine clip marks the end of something, it also means we're just that little bit closer to something much, much more wonderful.
brought to you with lots of lemming-love :) x
