If you want vague descriptions, how about this. The session is from sometime in 2013 and takes place on the roof of a building...somewhere (possibly Berlin?). How terribly non-specific. It was recorded for Tape TV which I believe went bankrupt in 2016 sometime, and has since vanished offline while it undergoes a "revamp". I should add that this downtime has extended for a few years now, although the countdown clock on their site is indicating that they'll be back in under a year. I guess we'll have to wait and see. One unfortunate consequence of this disappearing act is that their archive of performances just like this one have been taken from public view. That is, unless you're a fan of Editors because my compulsive tendencies compelled me to collect it when it was live and now I'm putting it out there for everyone to enjoy again. It's also a bit of a special one if you're a hardcore fan.
There were 5 single videos on the Tape TV website and this is all of them as a solitary unit. Russell is on the keys and Tom is on the guitar, and they run through 5 Editors tracks with the balance of songs being tilted in favour of the album they were promoting at the time, The Weight of Your Love. What makes this a golden ticket affair is that it's is a rare moment where you get to hear Hyena played live again. How rare is a live rendition of Hyena? I only have 2 posts here at the Archive where you can get a copy of them playing it (and this is one of them). The other one is:-
