La Cigale, Paris 17th March 2014 (fan footage)

Right from the get-go, I have to confess that this post is missing one track. ERM=BD from this show has yet to surface, but if it does then I'll add it to the list. All the other tracks from the gig are here, as filmed by members of the audience that night. As such, it has that bootleggy feel to it that those of you who enjoy pro-shot stuff might not appreciate. But in the absence of a professional recording, this at least offers an insight as to where the band are at right now in terms of their performances. Life as a Ghost is still in the set, and along with Camera seems to be developing in terms of its dramatic effect every time they play it recently.

It's proof that, while the studio versions of these tracks will always be there, there's every chance that they'll be evolving whenever they get played onstage. We've already seen this in the past with You Are Fading, which became longer and faster live. And of course there was Papillon, which doubled in length and allowed Russell to go walking with his basslines a lot more.  Whether you think it's a good thing or a bad thing, I think there's something nice about going to a concert and not hearing an exact note for note replication of an album or single track.  But enough of my waffling, let's get on shall we?
