The band appeared on Dutch TV as guests on "The World Keeps Turning", and as a result we have another Editors rarity that the hopelessly addicted fanboys/fangirls among you will absolutely love. In addition to a full performance of Honesty, we get a one minute and 20 seconds version of Ton of Love.
Yes, you read that correctly. A one minute and twenty second version of Ton of Love.
Sadly it's not a thrash metal take on the tune, which would have been be just fabulous. King Leetch has professed to liking Slayer in the past, so never say never. Here, it's the song minus all the verses. Weirdness. Almost as weird as seeing the band forced to occupy such a small space to play and having to be mindful of camera angles. It results in them performing with minimum physical motion, which must be as frustrating as hell when you're used to bouncing around the stage. The whole thing reminds me of when The Cure acted as the house band on the Jonathan Ross show way, way back in 1991 where they played a truncated version of Why Can't I Be You.
Extra bonus points go to the gentleman sitting directly in front of the band, sipping his drink and embracing the cool. He looks like absolutely nothing would phase him, not in the slightest. And even though there's some quality sounds being offered behind him, you'd better believe there will be no foot tapping or head movement. Hell no!
Enjoy the music ;)
