Milano Acoustics - Museo del Novecento June 4th 2013

If you ever thought that Editors were national treasures and should be put in a museum somewhere....

A beautiful venue in an equally beautiful city, here's some footage of Editors' at Museo del Novecento for Milano Acoustics, in Milan on June 4th 2013. You get to enjoy Mr Smith and Mr Lockey doing their thing with both A Ton of Love and Nothing. As I recall this was done prior to a very intimate gig later on at Trussardi Cafè, where they performed 6 tracks in total before an extremely small (and lucky) crowd with Russell present on the keys.

This is the first time that the Museo del Novecento films have been available as one complete set, and it includes the walk into the venue made by the band right at the beginning which was taken from a teaser clip. In addition to that, I have a selection of stunning photographs to download that you really should see from the Milano Acoustics website, which were posted in tandem with the videos.

There's a few of things to notice while you watch this performance, the first being that if you listen closely at the beginning of A Ton of Love you hear Tom being coached on how to pronounce the name of the venue in Italian. Secondly, this is the very definition of "acoustic" because neither of Tom or Justin's guitars are plugged in and there's no vocal mic. Lastly, there's a rare live key change during ATOL when Tom sings A ton of love, a ton of hate. Hey, they may be little details but they still get noticed here at the Archive. Enjoy the music ;)
