The bad news first. The radio broadcast is complete but, as is usually the case when time constraints are a factor, they didn't broadcast the entire set. Bones starts midway through, and the 2 missing tracks were Smokers and Fingers. To add to your frustrations, the DJ in charge of this particular show decided it would be a great idea to chatter away at the beginning and end of each track. It's particularly evident during AEHAS, which is extremely frustrating. I don't speak Spanish, but I don't imagine for one second that what he had to say was more important than listening to Editors playing. My suspicions are that, in a similar way to Italian DJs, they're told to chatter over the songs to prevent bootlegging.
Ho ho ho!
What's very strange about this particular set is the performance of Munich. Was it the Spanish sun? Was he just lost in the moment? Well, for whatever reason Mr Smith decides to stop singing during the first verse of Munich. If you were just listening to the show, you'd think he'd forgotten the words. However, thanks to the internet there is video footage available (included here as bonus material) and it's clear that he just kind of wanders off for a brief stroll whilst singing. Excellent stuff! What makes it even more peculiar, is that the radio broadcast has the first verse intact as if it never happened. Why that is, I have no idea. Check it all out using the links below:-
