While still in university, the future members of Editors (or Snowfield as they were known at the time) shot a student-made promo film for an early version of the track Come Share the View. The premise is extremely simple, just Tom in a room with a mattress but it's the unpolished roughness in sound of this future b-side that really stands out. The way the vocals are processed so they sound like it's being whispered through a megaphone. Fantastic.
I love the idea of going back in time and telling the band that within the next 5 years they will have number one albums, will have toured with REM and will have travelled to lots of amazing places in the world playing their music. I wonder if they'd believe it?
