Found by the Editors' social media supervisor, Hannah (thank you!), this is Tom giving an interview to Chris Hawkins on BBC 6 Music 2nd September 2025. The first half of the chat is focused on the new solo album, while the second is more about looking back. 2025 is, after all, the year that saw The Back Room turn 20.
There were some revealing details given away here, including the admission that there was an abandoned third album by Smith And Burrows album which may or may not be resurrected down the line. Even when certain other topics appear very briefly, they still serve as a deeper insight into what goes on behind the scenes in Editors. Things like Tom admitting that the writing process for EBM may have been the push that he needed to try something more self-sufficient as an artist.
There's further talk of what motivated his temporary conscious un-coupling from Editors, and the suggestion that you may see fellow band members showing up on this tour as audience members, or to man the t-shirt stall and flog his merchandise. Probably. Enjoy the chatter ;)
